While the Guggenheim Abu Dhabi is still under construction, the museum has already started having exhibitions in other venues. Its second exhibition, “The CreativeAct: Performance, Process, Presence” was held later last year. This group exhibition showcased artists from different cultures who practiced from the 1960s to present day and created works that respond to performances pieces, the artistic process or the artist’s presence. Individuals such as Anish Kapoor, Giovanni Ozzola, Hasaan Sharif and Tanaka Atsuko were just a few of the artists on view.

Have you ever listened to an art podcast and found yourself irritated that you were unable to view the work being discussed? That is definitely true for me. Well the Louvre Abu Dhabi has found a way to combat that frustration. Called the “Highway Gallery,” the Louvre Abu Dhabi has placed 9×6 meter billboards of various works from their collection on the side of the E11/Sheikh Zayed Road. If you are interested in hearing about these works as you drive by simply tune into one of three radio stations and you are able to hear a 30 second blurb detailing information including title, artist, medium and a description of the masterpiece. The “Highway Gallery” certainly provides a little culture to your drive don’t you think?

Life is all about balance. Well, in this case so is art. These cold cast hanging bronze sculptures are created by artist Jerzy Kedziora. The sculptures hang from trees and wire in a balancing act. These sculptures are currently suspended in palm trees on the beach at the Emirates Palace in Abu Dhabi. What a nice place to hang!
