High above the bustling streets of Manhattan is the Chelsea High Line, an elevated pedestrian footpath guiding you through the sky scrapers and above the yellow taxi cabs. Walking along the High Line you are sure to spot works of art on buildings and billboards often missed by the passerbys below. What have you seen on the Chelsea High Line?
The V-J Day photograph of a sailor kissing a nurse in Times Square at the end of WWII was featured first in Life Magazine. It is a photo that became instantly famous and is still celebrated. While the original photograph was in black and white, this iconic image has been brought to life in color. Bright yellow, green, blue, red, purple, orange and pink all radiates out from the central kissing couple who are also vibrantly painted with the sailor’s hat a striking white. Now, thanks to this artist, the image can continue its life in color.
