The Pinacoteca di Brera has implemented an interesting approach to exhibitions. Known as “Dialogues,” the Brera brings together two to three works of art which are meant to spark a conversation, or a dialogue. These Dialogues occur in a room in the permeant collection. One such Dialogue, which is currently on view, is “Raphael and Perugino — Two Marriages of the Virgin.” Perugino’s Marriage of the Virgin, has made its home in the Musée des Beaux-Arts in Caen, France for about 200 years. This landmark Dialogue will bring together Perugino’s altarpiece with an altarpiece from one of his students, Raphael.
