Red Twisted Form // Merete Rasmussen // Stoneware, hand-built, with sprayed matt red glaze // 2012
As one of my favorite museums in London, I frequently visit the Victoria & Albert Museum. Up until last week, I didn’t know there was a ceramic wing, let alone a space dedicated to contemporary ceramics. This room focuses on working ceramicists, displaying their unique approach to the art of fired and glazed clay. Here are three works that immediately caught my eye due to their shape, color and subject.
Headthinker // Laura Ford // Glazed stoneware, steel plaster & clothing // 2003
Form 1113: Twisting Back, Multiplying // From the Struggling Form series // Harumi Nakashima // Glazed porcelain, with decoration in blue // 2011
