Red, yellow, pink, hot pink, green and lime green sheets cover a monumental wall in The Broad Museum. These colored sheets are filled with clusters of texts that both spark intrigue and challenge the reader. They are Jenny Holzer’s “Inflammatory Essays.” The questions and statements Holzer poses prompts the viewer to think more critically about these everyday issues.

You never know what you are going to find walking into The Standard Hotel in downtown Los Angeles. The main lobby is filled with a range of art works from an enormous hanging Calder mobile to graphic panels by Ryan McGinness. One striking piece is Jenny Holzer’s Blue Spike I. With a continuous text scrolling down the LED sign, you become entranced as the words move from top to bottom and find yourself standing in front of the screen longer than you intended.
