Enchanted Forest of Light

FullSizeRender 49.jpgWhat is more fun than exploring gardens? Doing so in the dark! During the holiday season Descanso Gardens creates interactive light installations for visitors of all ages to explore. This year there were eight works including glowing circles that change colors as you walk, luminous tulips and lit oak trees which create a symphony of sounds as you stroll across the wooden platforms circling their trunks.

Descanso Gardens is just one venue this holiday season that is taking pumpkin carving to the next level. Part of the Rise of the Jack O’Lantern festival, Descanso Gardens pumpkins will be displayed until November 1. You may ask, why would I pay to see jack o’lanterns when I could carve them myself? Well, these are no ordinary jack o’lanterns. They are masterpieces. Carved and designed by artists and sculptors, these pumpkins come to life as giraffes, cars and lions with their flickering candles inside. They trick your eye while being a treat to view. Happy trick or treating!
