Momentum III // Michael Speller // 2012
Ever tried walking through Westminster on a Monday morning? You have people walking quickly to work and tourists stopping every few feet to marvel at Parliament and take pictures. It seems fitting for artist Michael Speller to place his bronze sculpture “Momentum III” in this bustling part of the city. A figure is shown walking in the smallest of three concentric rings. It seems to resemble a hamster wheel, where he just keeps walking around and around. Where is he off to? Maybe, he is late for work. Or maybe, he is exploring the city.
